Simon Loftus
Director

Simon Loftus is a non-executive Director of Adnams PLC, a member of the Council of Aldeburgh Music, Trustee of the Suffolk Foundation and is involved in a number of other local and national initiatives.

As immediate past Chairman of Adnams PLC (1995-2006), Simon led a business that won numerous awards for its social and environmental engagement, including the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, Sustainable Development. Adnams also worked closely with Kirkley High School, Lowestoft, on a programme of Enterprise Education, which became a model of its kind.

Married with one daughter, Simon has lived and worked in Suffolk all his life. His education took him to various schools and Trinity College, Cambridge (MA). He is also an Honorary Doctor of Civil Law (UEA/Suffolk College).

He is author of numerous articles and three books (on Wine, Travel and Social History), and is currently working on a book on Anglo-Irish History.

Simon was appointed OBE for Services to Business in the 2007 New Year Honours list.

“ I am very well aware of the problems faced by Lowestoft and Yarmouth but strongly confident of their potential – and am determined to help bring that better future into being.”
