Phil represents the interests of the Great Yarmouth community as the Great Yarmouth LSP nominee and is the former Chair of both the Social Forum and the Community Empowerment Working Group, now Great Yarmouth People.

He has been a trustee of several Great Yarmouth charities and has been vice chair within the Education Action Zone which progressed the attainment and development of 34 schools in Great Yarmouth. Phil has also chaired the Governors at Greenacre First, Middle and Nursery School and is currently a governor, a position held for 8 years.

Phil has worked extensively in the area of Regeneration and Renewal and was Head of Regeneration and Renewal with NWES, one of the UK's leading enterprise agencies. In this role he developed new and innovate means by which communities can develop and run businesses that benefit their community. This built upon the success of 4 social enterprise companies which are managed by the community. These companies now employ their own staff, manage community assets valued at over £2million and have created sustainable business plans. Phil was also instrumental in developing a £1m loan portfolio supporting new business across the eastern region.

Phil is now working within the construction industry helping to develop a construction, maintenance and refurbishment company.

Phil’s other commitments include: Economic Forum of the Great Yarmouth Local Strategic Partnership;  Great Yarmouth and Caister Education Trust.
