Eddy Alcock
Council Director, Suffolk County Council
Eddy is Cabinet Member for Environment, Waste and Economic Development for Suffolk County Council. He is also an elected member of Mid Suffolk District Council. An engineer by profession, his qualifications include European Engineer (Eur Ing), Chartered Engineer (CEng) and Member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (MIMechE).
He is a member of the County Board of the Prince’s Trust, a Business Adviser to Suffolk Young Enterprise, and Chairman of the Trustees at The Iceni Project. a Drugs Rehabilitation Clinic in Ipswich.
For many years Eddy Alcock served as a Retained Firefighter in Debenham, where he lives, and was National President of The Retained Firefighters’ Union in 1980.
Personal statement:
“ My Directorship of The Urban Regeneration Company is a direct consequence
of my Portfolio responsibility for Economic Development at Suffolk
County Council. However, I relish the prospect and look forward to making a
contribution to the success of the initiative.”
