Vital to the infrastructure of EastPort and South Denes peninsula, Great Yarmouth's third river crossing has been identified by the Secretary of State for Transport as a key regional project.
This new gateway to the town will take traffic direct to the new port and the seafront relieving congestion in the town centre.
Nelson's Bridge is a regional priority for 2016, although work is underway to bring this deadline forward as the new EastPort comes on stream. A detailed engineering and design assessment has also been commissioned by the partners who include Norfolk County Council, Great Yarmouth Borough Council, the Great Yarmouth Port Authority and 1st East.
